About
I have been making things out of wood for as long as I can remember. In recent years, my interests have centered on the intersection of lutherie, statistical analysis, machine learning, AI, and automation—and how those worlds can blend in a way that emphasizes quality while firmly keeping the woodworker at the heart of the process. The art of guitar building remains the focus. This has been the motivation behind my recent work.
Believe it or not, it was the ukulele that first got me interested in lutherie. I built my first StewMac Tenor Uke kit back in 2019, and my heart was forever swept up in the magic. After that, I was determined to do this for a living. A few more kits followed, then my first soprano ukulele built entirely from scratch. From there, I set out to make a career of the craft, which eventually led me to work for Ampliùs Guitars.
There, I honed my skills in their neck department—truly the dream job of a lifetime. I was also responsible for making their braces, which sparked a deep interest in soundboard construction and behavior. That years-long obsession led to endless research, experimentation, and conceptual development, ultimately culminating in my tech novel, Soundboard Analysis: Variables for Automation in Lutherie.
If you found your way here, chances are you may have picked up a copy of the book yourself—thank you for that. And if not, welcome. This site serves as a place to share who I am, what I’m working on, and where you can explore the ideas further.
